Just another reminder of why I chose to write a novel about African gods on a supernatural heist to retrieve an item from the British museum.

The worst and most persistent advice in writing: Show don't Tell (given by people who don't quite understand what either technique is). We need to Show and Tell and in fact, most of your story is going to be Telling. The quality of Telling is what matters.

What’s the last book you read that you disagreed with?

Helon Habila chose Akweke Emezie’s Dear Senturan. For Zainab Kuku, it was Sylvia Plath’s poem, Ariel. Wole Talabi settled on Ashlee Vance’s biography on Elon Musk.

I have a weird way of drinking coffee.
I start with a strong cup. Drink half, then refill with hot water. Drink more & repeat every hour or so.
So the cup never empties, the temperature fluctuates between hot and warm & the coffee concentration asymptotically tends to zero.
