You can advocate for the Repeal of WEP/GPO‼️ We only get 1/3 of SS if we have 40 quarters in the private sector. Teachers don't get SS if their spouse dies.
Half of your pension can be taken during divorce while you can't touch his/her SS. Affects teacher retention/recruitment.

Travis Brenda There are not many people who meet the 'substantial earnings' for 30 years criteria to get full SS benefits. It's unfair for public servants like teachers to be penalized. Recruitment/retention are big problems.
