I learned many lessons from my grandfather during my childhood visits to India — including what a democracy can and should be.

Women in every state must have the freedom to choose if and when they become a mother.

President Biden and I will continue to fight to improve maternal health and protect reproductive freedoms, including access to IVF.

My mother had many sayings, and her advice shaped me and influences me to this day.

My mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan, had two goals in life: to cure breast cancer and to raise my sister and me.

I miss her every day and think of her all the time. I am so proud to be her daughter. Happy Mother’s Day.

Our teachers dedicate themselves to some of the most noble work any person can do — educating our nation’s children. We will not stop fighting to give them the pay they deserve.
