UFO | Obsession
It all came together for the criminally underrated UFO on Obsession. Superb songwriting, magical playing, that Ron Nevison production, and my favourite cover by Hipgnosis. Class, and then some πΆ πΆ πΆ

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers | Damn The Torpedoes
From the defiant opener of Refugee to the world weary resignation & redemption of Louisiana Rain, TP fashioned a rock'n'roll album for the ages. Miss you Charlie T Jnr π€
#NP Harp | Albion
You know you're in 'trouble' when you're on your third consecutive listen to an album. Quite late to the party with Albion, but took a punt thanks to | Ricky McAllister | & Paul Wright Spellbinding, mystical and magical. Will need to ration my listening π
#NP & Happy (re)Release Day Manic Street Preachers and the wonderful #Lifeblood I always loved this record, and this double 45 rpm remastered vinyl is what it always deserved. It sounds absolutely stunning. Plus that beautiful cover art.....

Simple Minds | New Gold Dream (81, 82, 83, 84)
A shimmering singularity in the band's oeuvre, which nothing before nor after could equal. However, in this one glittering moment we could dream of new musical possibilities....

Kate Bush | The Kick Inside
A week of release purchase for a much younger me, which continues to enthrall to this very day. Kate's best work was to come, but The Kick Inside remains my favourite, if that makes sense? π

The glorious debut album from one of England's most gifted songwriters and vocalists. It's beautiful songs benefit from a sumptuous production, including some wonderful orchestration.

Japan | Tin Drum
An astonishing achievement, where the band surpassed the high water mark of the two superb preceding albums. Songs, arrangements, production, cover art etc. all of the very highest quality. A timeless beauty.
