Caitlin died two weeks ago. We miss her so fucking much. Lynne M. Thomas 🏳️🌈🦄🚀 and I are up and down emotionally. We push through some thing and then grief will sideswipe us hard.
Also, why is there no word for parents who lost a child? Like widow/widower or orphan?
I have a story in the May issue of Lightspeed Mag (Bluesky: @lightspeedmagazine.com), out today in ebook form!
“We Will Teach You How To Read | We Will Teach You How To Read” will be available online on 5/9, but if you have the means, support the magazine and subscribe?

11 days since Caitlin passed away. Everything remains difficult, but Lynne M. Thomas 🏳️🌈🦄🚀 & I are pushing through. All of the Uncanny Magazine work is on schedule. We're continuing our redecoration of Caitlin's room into a sitting/memory room instead of a palliative care room.
I have an essay in the upcoming issue of Uncanny Magazine alongside John Scalzi.
My name is on the cover. With John Scalzi.
I cite Scalzi's Lock In books in my essay and he's in the same issue as me oh my god excuse me while I fangirl.
(Available at major ebook retailers May 7!)
