Weird seeing people on the left praise Martin Amis. He was an open and quite vicious racist and snob. Almost like these things are tolerable to some as long as the person doing it has talent and social status.

You see a similar thing with David Bowie. The man was a known child sex offender and yet is widely revered in much of the left. But apparently his musical talent and cool protects him.
