We are heartbroken to report that one of our own, Jacob Toukhy, was tragically killed last night in Jaffa. To Jacob’s family, we and USAID West Bank/Gaza send our deepest condolences; we mourn alongside you. Jacob was a valued member of our embassy community for over two decades.

As Muslim families and communities come together for Eid al-Fitr, they are also reflecting on the pain felt by so many.

My thoughts are with those around the world enduring conflict, hunger, and displacement, including in places such as Gaza and Sudan.
