We need a quantum leap for #climatefinance .
The recent progress is helpful. But not enough.
My message to G7 ministers next week:
Mobilize ministers across your governments.
Push development banks for more.
Unlock more finance.

The climate crisis is not a problem for someone else to solve in the future.
It's an emergency that affects us all NOW, no matter where we are 🌍
It is only together that we can tackle climate change.
Happy #MultilateralismDay
We need to start embedding climate change #adaptation as a way of life.
Only 54 developing countries have a National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
The UN Climate Change and partners will support the other 100 developing countries in formulating their NAPs and identifying the needed funding.
Today, International Energy Agency has launched a new online resource tracking global progress on the key energy goals agreed at #COP28
Developed with UN Climate Change, it will be updated regularly with the latest IEA data & analysis, supporting policy makers as they aim to turn climate promises into action ⬇️
What if…
…countries and communities had the funding that they needed to build #resilientsocieties ?
…we build a healthier, safer and more prosperous future for us all through #climateadaptation ?
Find out more about National Adaptation Plans (NAPs):
The next two years are essential in saving our planet, as our Executive Secretary Simon Stiell put it.
What's more, we have so much to gain from bold climate action:
🎯 New jobs
🥕 More food security
💚 Better health
We need strong national climate action plans. Now.
How do we track progress on climate action?
This year, countries must submit their first-ever Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs), assessing progress made under the Paris Agreement.
But what exactly are BTRs & why are they critical to global #ClimateAction ?
