The climate crisis ๐๐ฅ is leaving its mark on Latin America and the Caribbean.
The new World Meteorological Organization report 'The State of the Climate in Latin America and the Caribbean' sheds light on climate impacts in the region, but also looks at solutions ๐
What do you see in this photo?๐
What appears as a desert are the haunting remains of Poopo Lake in #Bolivia โ a once-thriving lake forever changed by #climatechange .๐
On #WorldPressFreedomDay let's thank journalists who tell the story behind the photo & fight #misinformation .
Did you know transitioning to a greener economy could create millions of new jobs?

The climate crisis is not a problem for someone else to solve in the future.
It's an emergency that affects us all NOW, no matter where we are ๐
It is only together that we can tackle climate change.
Happy #MultilateralismDay
We need to start embedding climate change #adaptation as a way of life.
Only 54 developing countries have a National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
The UN Climate Change and partners will support the other 100 developing countries in formulating their NAPs and identifying the needed funding.
Today, International Energy Agency has launched a new online resource tracking global progress on the key energy goals agreed at #COP28
Developed with UN Climate Change, it will be updated regularly with the latest IEA data & analysis, supporting policy makers as they aim to turn climate promises into action โฌ๏ธ
What ifโฆ
โฆcountries and communities had the funding that they needed to build #resilientsocieties ?
โฆwe build a healthier, safer and more prosperous future for us all through #climateadaptation ?
Find out more about National Adaptation Plans (NAPs):
The next two years are essential in saving our planet, as our Executive Secretary Simon Stiell put it.
What's more, we have so much to gain from bold climate action:
๐ฏ New jobs
๐ฅ More food security
๐ Better health
We need strong national climate action plans. Now.
How do we track progress on climate action?
This year, countries must submit their first-ever Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs), assessing progress made under the Paris Agreement.
But what exactly are BTRs & why are they critical to global #ClimateAction ?
