We had so much fun doing this research and are excited that the paper is now out! We used synchrotron VUV light AdvancedLightSource to show that the carbene HCOH forms from methanol UV photodissociation. Much to learn about its reactivity now!
A new concept called quantum spherical codes could make the notoriously fragile information in a photon-based quantum computer less susceptible to errors. Researchers at NIST, QuICS, Joint Quantum Institute and UMD Science published their work in Nature Physics: nature.com/articles/s4156…
