Great to see this paper on an alcohol CBM Implementation trial in multiple German rehabs, with more evidence for its short-term effectiveness (at 3 months). Next research question-can a post-discharge CBM app extend training and its longer-term benefits?pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38503273/

The app draws upon techniques usually found in games, such as winning a competition or achieving a goal that encourages people to stay motivated.

According to Monash University and Turning Point's Professor Victoria Manning, the lead researcher of the team investigating the app, autopilot responses to images of alcohol can trigger people's impulses to drink.
