This was a BIG eruption! ๐Ÿ‘‡ Ash up to 50,000 feet into the atmosphere! This 'might' be big enough to have global temperature impacts. We won't know that answer for a while.

Lightning fact from our Weather Talk 'Thunder & Lightning' podcast earlier in the week: Men tend to get struck by lightning WAY more often that women. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Who has an answer for me on this one? ๐Ÿคจ

Time For A Cool Change - LRB '79. After a very warm stretch here in Baltimore, looks like the next 10 days (after today) will average a little below normal. High temps likely in the 60s most days. Not 'cold', just 'cool'. ๐Ÿ™‚

Radar Update: Storms developing in the mountains, and moving East. However, notice how they fall apart when they hit the dry air around Baltimore. A better chance for stronger storms across S. MD and Lower Eastern Shore.

Doesn't 'feel' like a severe weather day in MD. Dew Points in the 50s. But there is some good instability, and a few big boomers could develop this afternoon. Best chance will be across S. MD and the Lower Eastern Shore. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Might even be a storm ot two around Baltimore.
