The OS/software that we've bloated our PCs with is a metaphor for how we've used PCs in general. Here's an invention that can streamline so many necessary processes. So what did we do? We clogged up our workplaces with ever more unnecessary processes to use up the extra capacity.

As a neuroscientist and rugby fan, seeing a player do this and escape a heavy ban really scares me.

'12-6 elbows' (elbow down from vertical) are banned in MMA fighting specifically because copping one to the back of the head can be *life-threatening*.

'Space for bikes is space for people. That increases healthy mobility, reduces congestion and creates a livable city for everybody.'

Beautiful words.

Cities choose to prioritise cars vs bikes/people. Utrecht chose cars, then switched. Other cities can do the same.

This is a fantastic resource for making fNIRS research more inclusive and equitable. Looks like lots of it would generalise to EEG, and maybe to OPMs too.

Thanks a lot to Jasmine from the Internets 💙 for sharing and to Cassondra and Suanna for talking us through it!

Thank you for telling me that the seminar is 'hybrid' 👍

It would be *even more* helpful to know if that means:

1) Speaker in person, audience hybrid
2) Speaker remote, audience hybrid

I'll walk across campus for 1) but not 2)

One colleague brought up inequality in grant allocation via DM.

I know NWO - Dutch equiv of UKRI - reports p(M|applicant), p(funded|M) and p(funded|F) for many (all?) calls.

Do other funders do this? Any who don't? It seems like an easy thing to do and to ask for.

YES.

This morning my phone auto-corrected 'Happy International Women's Day' to 'Happy Indefensible Women Day', and I would just like to encourage all my women friends to KEEP BEING INDEFENSIBLE.

Those worth your time and energy will love you for it ❤️

YES THAT IS CORRECT

There is SO MUCH appetite for cycling in this city but the infrastructure is not fit for purpose. We need a change in thought and culture.

Bike Worcester any tips for following your brilliant example up here in Birmingham?

What are your worst examples of 'acronym interference'?

I'm reading a circuit-neuro paper where PSD = 'post-synaptic density', but my M/EEG brain insists on interpreting it as 'power spectral density', which makes no sense in context.
