Another key change: In three of the new women's int. windows for the 2026-2029 calendar, national teams will be permitted to play up to *three games* within the window (that's the Feb-Mar window, the Apr window, and the Nov-Dec window).
So, fewer windows, but not fewer matches.

Crucially, there's a reduction from 6 women's international windows each year to 5 windows, which Fifa says is 'based on a player-centric approach' and 'will provide more opportunities for rest and recovery for players, less disruption to domestic leagues and reduced travel.'

Some important detail in the new calendar... Fifa say: '[International] windows will be consistently placed in February-March, April, May-June, October, and November-December each year.'

So, no more July window (the most controversial window this summer) and no September window.
