Yes, we need to support teachers when they feel burned out for their own well-being, but did you know that research shows STUDENTS DO WORSE IN SCHOOLS when teachers are exhausted?
See Chase Mielke's book for some excellent, concrete suggestions to combat this.
🎙️ Dr. Michele Borba found that grades are not markers of success. We should be focusing on self-confidence, empathy, self-control, integrity, curiosity, perseverance & optimism.

Leaders, want to ensure your communication is truly effective? Business management guru Patrick Lencioni says you need to communicate your message 7 times. Yes, that's right, over & over & over & over & over & over & over.
Otherwise, your staff will think, this, too, will pass.
Any perfectionist principals out there? 👀
If you need a quick cure, take a look at the research on the effectiveness of perfectionism that Adam Grant includes in his book, Hidden Potential (@penguinrandom).
I love this idea from Adam Grant. Sometimes it's hard for school leaders to get honest feedback, even when they ask for it. Next time, rather than asking for feedback, try asking for ADVICE.
That small change just might do the trick 😉

It’s time to grab some ideas to stem this tide from Chase Mielke’s Illuminate the Way (@ASCD).

Provide the instructional support that they need. Are you observing their classes + providing high-quality actionable feedback?
See more ideas in Andrea Terrero Gabbadon, Ph.D.'s Support and Retain Educators of Color.
If you were ever unsure why it’s so important that teachers encourage students to embrace their mistakes in school, take a look at this graphic from Adam Grant's Hidden Potential (@penguinrandom).
We want students to jump in NOW, not wait until they are mistake-free.
School leaders often don't prioritize organizational health. Patrick Lencioni emphasizes that this is KEY in any organization and shows you how to do it in his book The Advantage.
