I have been working mostly with drawing this year, but I have also done some oil pastels, just little pieces, A5. It can be challenging getting interesting detail with this medium on a small scale

Fairy rings are caused by threads of fungus growing underground in a circular shape. When it is time to fruit the mushrooms pop up out of the ground at the edge of the circle, creating the fairy ring.

Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose (1885-86) by John Singer Sargent (American artist, lived 1856-1925). Chinese #lanterns hanging in the trees. The children are daughters of the artist Frederick Barnard.

We visited Loch Lomond last week, took a boat tour of the loch, that was the highlight. Also ate lunch in a dinosaur themed restaurant & had difficulty figuring out how to buy a ticket from the Sealife Centre.

Verdigris Agaric is widespread but not particularly common in Britain. Found on lawns and in woodland areas, but particularly favours wood-chip mulches in gardens, and parks from July to October.
