Day off today so this morning I ran the Line public art path in East London from Stratford to Greenwich. Saw lots of nice art, went on the cable car (!), and finished up with a very tasty cinnamon bun! Would really recommend!

Celebrating Madge Gill for Women's History Month 🌹

Today is International Women's Day, during Women's History Month, so we're highlighting this beautiful book about artist Madge Gill, edited by Sophie Dutton. One woman documenting the work of another.

Have you seen many swans on your walks along The Line?

Fun fact 🦢 The common belief that all swans belong to the Queen is not correct: she does, however, have rights over half the swans on the River Thames (which are marked each year in a ritual known as ‘swan-upping’).

Familiar with the Greenway path through Stratford? You are in fact standing over the historic Northern Outfall Sewer. Built between 1860 and 1865, it was Joseph Bazalgette’s solution to London’s chronic drainage and sewerage problems.

We held our first community networking event, bringing together local orgs, inspirational ideas and meaningful connections.

It was a great opportunity to hold space for people in this field to connect and have genuine conversations about work they are passionate about.

In October, The Line proudly presented a special screening of the latest film commission, a site-specific performance by the incredibly talented artist Helen Cammock @cammockhelen. The exclusive showcase of 'The Lay Shaft Drive is Down' left an unforgettable impression.
