Really interesting to hear thoughts around the incredible east is east V&A and see performance footage . Loved it in the 90s Sheffield Theatres and more recently National Theatre and Still inspiring me. More of this! Tara Theatre Tamasha Sudha Bhuchar
One of the many barriers that GM & low income family actors face; a key factor we interrogated whilst launching the Young Company at Tara Theatre. A step in the right direction but the battle continues and hope more drama schools follow suit - onwards ! theguardian.com/education/2024β¦
Honoured to speak alongside this incredible panel chaired by Sudha Bhuchar event curated by Suman Bhuchar at V&A today to examine the legacy of East is East and British South Asian theatre!

Absolutely blown away by 'Silence' The Rep Adapted from Kavita Puri 'Partition Voices, directed by Iqbal Khan, the production uses mixed media & clever staging to tell the stories of the silent. The actors were superb- it bought me to tears. Close to the bone and unapologetic.
There are only 2 chances left to see Tara Theatre's SILENCE here at The Rep is tonight - don't miss your chance to see this powerful show, giving voice to those caught up in the Partition of India.
