Consent is agreeing to an action based on knowledge of what that action involves, its likely consequences & the option to say no. Coercion means persuading someone to do something using manipulation, force, or threats. They may appear similar but there is a significant difference

Telling the truth takes courage. Documenting it, creating an archive of documents and vetted sources is not small feat. Defying those in power shocks them, for sometimes they overestimate the limits of their own authority.

we should be careful that our love for famous people doesn’t cause us to overlook the harm done to primary victims, or stop us from asking important questions.

I have to say that the most painful journey for me has been the reaction of the Christian community when the news of my abuse first came out and the continued reaction and silencing each and every time I speak out about abuse in the church and by “celebrity” pastors. 😓
