7th Sept 2012 saw us in Astana, to face Kazakhstan for a WC qualifier.... Robbie Keane and Kevin Doyle scored in the last couple of minutes to save us from a mortifying defeat... 2 1. We were dirt.

On this day in 2014, the Rep of Ireland travelled to Tbilisi to face Georgia at the start of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign. We'd come to know Georgia as much as we did Poland in the 60s an 70s.. A jammy 2 1 win, Aidan McGeady doubling his tally in injury time.
