The reason most bands aren't playing in your town even though you'd love to see them locally. They can't afford to and the promoters can't afford to take a chance (particularly local promoters).
It's the reason we can't play more gigs.

One Morning in August Gigs in Waterford has been a struggle for years,the amount of travelling to Dublin etc to see gigs when it would be nice on your doorstep..Even a lot of bands I like have toured recently,no Irish dates tho,not financially viable I'd say..

Ray Cheasty I remember asking a friend if a very well known artist's gig he attended in Waterford was sold out and he said no but if it had have been a cover band of his songs it would have sold out...

One Morning in August I have been to so many gigs here like that,well known acts struggled to sell tickets..Definitely a Waterford thing when it came to live music and especially original music..It is definitely changing tho over the last few years,thankfully..
