Wow. Luxon has sacked Melissa Lee as media minister and Penny Simmonds as disability minister. Lee leaves cabinet and Watts comes in as climate change minister.

This is great stuff from Hipkins. He's prosecuted the case on customs/IA cuts superbly, deftly Jiu-Jitsuing the bogus 'frontline' narrative. Equally, his response to the Coalition's made-up debt hysteria is some of the highest calibre pooh-poohing you're likely to see anywhere.

Health experts on the government's requested cuts:

“I was bloody horrified. Here they are saying ‘we’re getting rid of consultants’, and they’ve got PwC on the case again.”

Would someone who styles themselves as elite charge taxpayers $1000 a week to live in his own house?

Would an elite charge taxpayers to rent his own office?

Would an elite feel entitled to take a luxury car service to cross the road?

Is Luxon elite... or just entitled?

It is not clear that the Three Strikes law has increased public or victim safety or that continuing to limit judicial discretion & availability of rehabilitative opportunities will aid in reforming offenders or reducing serious crime.
