🚨🇬🇧🇪🇺🚨Labour says it has “no plans” for doing a youth mobility deal with EU — says it is “synonymous with free movement” (it isn’t)

…but another poor sign for those hoping Labour will be brave on EU. /1

I’m done being silent about this. I was threatened with revenge porn and police have said they won’t do anything because he said he didn’t intend to cause me distress.

In my over 20 years practicing criminal law, I have never observed a defendant refuse to stand and face the jury.

Any competent lawyer would tell their client that his fate is in the jury’s hands and they will watch everything he does.

Trump’s disrespect for the jury is unwise.

I hope friends and colleagues in The Labour Party will read this by Caroline Lucas. If a radical liberal Green can write about England sympathetically and with insight and progressive values then so, surely, can we.

Anti-poverty programmes should be seen as basic fiscal prudence. Leaving kids hungry is bad for them but also piles up social costs for the future.

It should not cost thousands of pounds to get a record of the trial in which you were the victim.

Earlier this evening, I told BBC Radio London about my campaign to make court transcripts free for survivors of sexual assault and rape.

Here at Trades Union Congress launch of the tonight, even as someone working in this field, I’m struck again by the paucity in our national conversation on how AI/tech already impacts workplaces, esp vulnerable, often invisible, workers facing invisible levels of control.

Truss’s book is crammed with striking examples of a complete lack of self-awareness, but I keep returning to this passage.

It may be the most literal instance of projection ever committed to print.

This is incredible. Yet another delay to UK import controls. Many aspects to this saga but they include that Brexiters & the govt denied for so long that Brexit would entail such controls, despite it being obvious since Lancs House speech of 01/17, + refusal to extend transition.
