Sadly, people are right to worry. Access to palliative and end of life care is a patchy post code lottery with very limited resources. Hospice care even more limited. ICB’s ongoing refusal to fund PEOLC in line with law & guidance will only exacerbate issue as population ages.

This is a really wonderful tribute to Chris & offers a glimpse of the incredible writer, passionate historian & sparkling wit of the man behind the books.

Despite an abundance of good intention, many ICBs just do not seem to understand how hospice charities need to plan , budget and work. A charity and it’s Board will always need a responsible approach to deficit budgets. I was glad to be asked about this by Health and Social Care Committee

Rising costs and stagnating statutory funding means many face tough choices. We spoke to Health and Social Care Committee about the impact on the sector.
