İlhami was going to cross the then-called Bosphorus Bridge when he saw the military takeover. Armed with nothing but their courage, he and other compatriots linked arms and walked toward soldiers fearlessly for their country. He is now a proud veteran with a 40% disability.

Erdal was born, raised, fought, and triumphed in Fatih. On July 15, when Fatih turned into a battlefield, he joined the death-defying citizens who stood up for democracy against FETÖ's cruel acts. Erdal says the coup attempt did nothing but fuel patriotic feelings in our hearts.
