Sunak’s government has almost destroyed Natural England – just for doing its job. A shocking catalogue of Tory attacks on the watchdog set up to protect nature. It needs its budgets & its independence back. Spot on from ⁦Guy Shrubsole⁩ 👇 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The Conservative interest equals the national interest! Both unbelievable and more than believable. All our problems root back to this extraordinary sense of entitlement.

We advocated development and use of leading indicators of social distress in 1986 in relation to 1980s debt crisis. Relevant to many crises - wars, pandemics… - but still not adopted.

There is something quite bizarre about a country that can achieve something as truly magnificent as we have seen tonight (not to mention superb Olympics and Paralympics in the same year) and yet be in such a mess politically

Why didn’t Trump put his hand on the bible while taking his oath? Does this invalidate his position? Does it mean he doesn’t intend to protect the US constitution?

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.  Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?
