@ShivMagST I work as a cleaner in the hotel sector. I'm appalled by the state of the rooms that some guests leave. It makes a surpring amount of difference to clean a room after good guest.

I wrote on the notice, 'I would have, but I'm only here for the weekend.'

@ShivMagST I hate to leave a room filthy, I don’t mind an unmade bed, they will be undressing that anyway. I feel you should respect it like your own house.

@ShivMagST Whatever you do, don't make the bed. Strip the bed when you're leaving, leave the bin on a surface, so they don't have to bend, and put the dirty towels in the sink. I did housekeeping one summer, and the lifting while bending is hard on the back.

@ShivMagST It's a self respect thing Siobhan, and consideration for the housekeeping staff who have to prepare the room for the next guests.

In an Airbnb, the owner commented on this and that we'd wiping down the kitchen area. It made wonder what state other people left it in.
