Amidst the busy budget process in Albany, it was nice to join my colleagues to witness the solar eclipse. Grateful for these little reminders to pause and appreciate the beauty around us.

I'm thrilled that my legislation allowing bed and breakfasts to sell cider, liquor, beer, and wine has passed in the New York State Senate. This will provide a significant boost to our B&Bs, small businesses, and our local agritourism industry.

Had an amazing time at the SUNY Cortland Kente Celebration this weekend. This celebration marks a significant rite of passage for scholars moving on from academia to new adventures. Congrats to all the 2024 graduates. I’m excited to see the remarkable paths you’ll forge.

It was nice to have Chancellor John B. King John B. King in our district for the @SUNY University Faculty Senate Plenary at Cornell University University. I was proud to present a proclamation in honor of the organization's 70th Anniversary. They are champions of our public universities.

Thrilled to present Ruth Lewis with a proclamation at my 2024 #WomensHistoryMonth Reception for her decades of service to our community. Ruth is involved with numerous local orgs, established Juneteenth celebrations, organizes MLK Day events, and advocates for social justice.

It is important to me that we find ways to increase access to home ownership in the Southern Tier. I had a productive meeting with the Ithaca Board of Realtors and Cortland County Board of Realtors at the State Capitol. We discussed their legislative and budget priorities.

Proud to announce the passage of my legislation in the New York State Senate, setting laser hair removal rules, regulations, and standards. With around 20,000 estheticians in NY, streamlining licensure ensures safer practices for consumers and supports small businesses.

We must invest in our children’s future by promoting early literacy. Joined colleagues and advocates to champion funding for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in NY's budget! This program sends free books to kids under 5, boosting literacy and ensuring they're school-ready.

I had a great time at the Children's Charity of Greater Binghamton’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Recreation Park. It was a beautiful day with hundreds of families coming together to gather over 30,000 eggs. Thank you to the organizers and sponsors for another successful event.
