One of my favorite Delaware traditions — now in its 91st year — is Old Dover Days! Today we joined together to celebrate why Delaware is called The First State.

Driving down emissions is critical for our planet and public health — especially for vulnerable Americans like those with asthma.

Fortunately, we're doing something about that! U.S. EPA's new rules to reduce vehicle emissions will help folks across our country breathe easier.

It was great welcoming Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small to Univ. of Delaware today! We saw first-hand how UD is working with Dept. of Agriculture to advance climate-smart practices & sustainability through investments in cutting-edge agricultural research, agriculture & food science programs, & scholarship opportunities.

I'm glad to join Mayor Mike Purzycki, Delaware DNREC Secretary Garvin, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and NOAA today to cut the ribbon on the new 7th Street Boating & Fishing Area here in Wilmington! Projects like this support the local economy and provide recreational opportunities for generations to come.

No one should live in an environment that puts them at risk of lead poisoning. I'm glad to join Department of Housing and Urban Development today to announce funding that will help to reduce dangerous materials like lead-based paint in our communities, while creating 50 jobs to tackle these health hazards head on.

This week, I met with Maiss on the steps of the Senate & heard about her passion for poetry. This bright young woman is yet another example of the rich talent coming out of the First State!

Today I met the 2024 Submarine Junior Officers of the Year. As a U.S. Navy veteran myself, it was great to speak with these folks recognized for their seamanship — and a special honor to speak with Lt. Tullie St. John, who is currently serving on the USS Delaware!

Great news, Delaware!

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, U.S. EPA is providing over $28 million to replace and identify toxic lead pipes up and down our state.

This funding will help ensure Delawareans have safe, clean water in their homes, businesses, and more. 🙌

One of my favorite events of the year is the DE Delegation Youth Conference, where Senator Chris Coons, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester & I bring together bright young minds to discuss issues affecting our state & country.

This year’s conference will be held at Delaware State University on May 20. I hope to see you there!

Today, I met with 2024 DE Dept of Education Teacher of the Year Cory Hafer!

Cory is doing wonderful work for Delaware students, and I recently saw his engineering classroom in action. It was great to see him again and hear about how he inspires the next generation at Middletown High School.

Congratulations to the Delaware State University #MarketMadness team! After beating out a record number of teams to compete in the final four of this nationwide finance contest, they are bringing home a $250K grant. Bravo Zulu!
