Last week, six years after my first visit, I travelled through the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It is a stunningly beautiful country, home to 100 million people, that has grappled with one of the most complex and pervasive crises for nearly three decades.

Yesterday, the US government acknowledged the dire situation children in Gaza face, but then took action that puts them at further risk of hunger, displacement and violence.
