Love this from JaneIdeCEO (she/her) ACEVO

I’ve chosen to surround myself with people better than me. It makes work better. I’ve even signposted brilliant people to leadership roles that I might be interested in. Because what’s the point in working with less than the best.

Imagine a Britain without the call of the curlew?

We can’t WWT. That’s why we’re working on the revival of this species with the support of many farmers, landowners, partners and our members. Thank you all.

More wetlands = more curlews = nature in recovery.

Wetland Word of the Week 🌿

SCURVY GRASS is a plant found on our saltmarsh. Its high vitamin C content meant it helped to prevent scurvy which is where it gets its common name. It is very bitter and actually not a grass at all but a relative of cabbage!

We're celebrating our partners SWAROVSKI OPTIK, who have been supporting our work to unlock the power of wetlands in Madagascar!

By re-establishing natural vegetation in Lake Sofia with local communities, we're helping to restore the depth of this vital Convention on Wetlands site 🌿

An absorbing, heart warming, uplifting film. Rather like the wetlands that are the backdrop to it. I loved it, but I am biased. All the best with it Jack Cooper Stimpson

When I see wetland habitat like this from the train window I am uplifted, as I see a super-powered piece of our national infrastructure at work. Bursting with life as a flood busting, water purifying, mood lifting, nature boosting ecosystem. Anyone else see this?

Sun shone on visit to WWT Steart Marshes yesterday with Matthew Gould of ZSL to talk species recovery, conservation breeding, working together. Marsh marigolds were stunningly yellow, sorry no photo! But did get one of gloves, restoring wetlands means getting muddy.
