No. 5 prospect Gino Groover has been placed on the High-A Hillsboro 7-day injured list.

The 2023 second-rounder appeared to hurt his left wrist on a play at first base Tuesday and was immediately taken out. (Close look around the 1:30 mark below.)

Was curious about another player, but came across this Jackson Holliday factoid.

He is tied for the the most batted balls with 100+ mph exit velocities in Triple-A this season with 15. Also in the top 10: Heston Kjerstad (14) and Coby Mayo (12).

Power's comin' to Baltimore.

Fun prospect faceoff here.

Ricky Tiedemann gets James Wood swinging on four pitches, featuring a pair of whiffs on his low-80s sweeper.

The LHP struck out a pair in a scoreless first inning for Triple-A Buffalo.

You have to go back to 2021 to find a time when a Nationals Major Leaguer posted an exit velocity higher than 115.3 mph.

Those who did it that year: Kyle Schwarber, Juan Soto, Josh Bell

That’s the type of loud contact James Wood made here.

The have signed infielder Kolten Wong as a Minor League free agent. He's been assigned to Triple-A Reno.

Wong was in camp this spring but opted out of his deal and was released before the season began. milb.com/player/kolten-…

In the fall of 2010, our college had a series against the Longhorns for a 3 game set. Our hitting coach at the time was Josh Holliday and his brother, Matt, brought his kid to our early practice. I remember watching his son Jackson Holliday with a sweet lefty swing. Go get em’ kid!

Kyle Stowers, Connor Norby, Jackson Holliday, Heston Kjerstad and Coby Mayo have a group chat.

The message they sent after Holliday got called up? “One down, four to go”
