docs are super easy to dismiss people who do their own research but if you have a story about a pharmacist, relative, or other practitioner, that will likely get you closer to what you need

“I was on the phone with my cousin last week and she said she just got diagnosed with x after experiencing y, and suggested I follow up with you about that.”

adding to this, never admit to have looked something up unless the doc has provided you a specific resource and you are referencing that.

do either what this person says or say you have a family member with the same problem who got tested for whatever it is you need done

This would involve doctors as a class, speaking up for marginalised patients, to the government.

That will never happen.

Until healthcare is overhauled to allow us to be informed of the options and implications of treatment, in order to make our own choices, most healthcare workers’ jobs will be primarily gatekeeping help that keeps disabled people alive.

Today my daughter & I went to Davos worthy GP practice 4 blood test:
*mask mandate (every single person masked: med profs, receptionists & all patients, many in respirators)
*hepa everywhere
*co2 monitors
*wall replaced with open louvres to ⬆️ air flow (behind us in mirror)

SaliWho 🏳️‍🌈 It wasn’t the lowest disability rate. I was the rate below. The lowest able and healthy rate. It took me around 4 years to fully get on the correct entitlements. Still there are benefits I should be getting and am not.

I can’t imagine trying to bring up kids on the lowest disability rate of universal credit. That’s so far below the poverty line.
