Today we honored our colleague Jerzy Buzek for his tremendous work in European Parliament.
He was the first #EP President coming from a 2004 enlargement country.
He is the embodiment of the EU unity that was created with the 2004, 2007 and 2013 enlargements.
I wish him all the best!

The 2024 #EUBudget rectification voted today includes the annual changes resulting from the long-term EU Budget revision: the allocation of €4.8 billion to #Ukraine and €376 million to #EuropeanDefenceFund , as part of #STEP Platform for investments in EU's strategic industries.

My 2 reports allocating €4.8 billion for #Ukraine and a €3.6 million increase in the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO)'s budget were just adopted by European Parliament.
This way, the funding will reach those who need it in time & we don't have to wait for the next legislature to make the rectifications.

With the accession of #Poland to European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), and soon of #Sweden , EPPO will act in 24 of the 27 EU member states.
To protect people's money, #EPPO needs to hire new personnel including Polish and Swedish prosecutors. And for this, it needs a proper budget.

Today, European Parliament will vote on my draft amending the 2024 #EUBudget , increasing European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO)'s allocations by 3.6 million euros.
Investments from EU funds are higher than ever, so we must ensure that #EPPO has enough resources to protect EU funds from the risk of fraud.

Today, we celebrate 20 years since the largest #enlargement in EU's history. The 2004 enlargement was a brave decision that serves as an example for us.
This is why I say: let us be brave again and start the accession process with #Ukraine , #Moldova and all states that are ready.

Under Ursula von der Leyen's leadership as European Commission president, EU remained united and helped people, enterprises & regions in times of need.
Yesterday, at the EPP Group meeting, we discussed with Ursula von der Leyen our achievements in the last 5 years and the plans for the next 5 years.

I am on my way to #Strasbourg for the last plenary session of this legislature.

I had five busy, but beautiful, years.

The US House of Representatives just did the right thing — for #Ukraine , for the free world and for the United States itself.

Today, I congratulated Simon Harris TD, the new Prime Minister of Ireland, whom I met at the EPP Group #EPP4Farmers event in Carlow.
We will work closely together, within the @EPP, to defend the interests of the Irish and Romanians at the European level.

Andrea, Marcin, Gina, Alessia and Patryk are the team of the EPP Group Outreach Directorate who help us get our message across by organising events all over Europe
Monday we were in Rome, today in Dublin.

Thank you for all your work over the last 5 years.
I am proud of you.

We, as EPP Group, will continue to defend #EuropeanFarmers and be the voice of farmers in the European Parliament in the next 5 years. This is what we told Irish farmers today at the #EPP4Farmers event in Carlow.

#Romania and #Ireland have very similar priorities and objectives regarding #agriculture and #farming - I said at the #EPP4Farmers event. We, EPP Group, will make sure that #EuropeanFarmers are supported to continue their work and that they can innovate farming and rural areas.
