The writers fail to understand that instead of keeping the audience invested, these tactics are slowly alienating them from the characters because there has been no proper progression in Ishaan-Savi's equation in the first place. Showing sporadic good writing isn't enough. (4/5).

Either complicate a simple scene (yesterday's eyelock scene was a prime example) to create confusion or rely on shock value (today's gulaal scene, Ishaan-Reeva's Holika dahan convo which had no heads or tails & was dropped out of the blue). (3/5)

The writers have completely faltered in this department w.r.t Ishaan, who is currently on a thin ice. Instead of putting some effort on paper, I feel lately they have been relying on these two gimmicks to grab quick eyeballs. (2/5)
