#SABCNews The IEC says there is no need to panic about the closing of voting stations. It has announced that closing of stations has been taking place at a phenomenonal rate since 21:00 hrs after allowing all voters in the queue to vote.

Moepya: The first results will be issued and that result comes from the Eastern Cape, it comes from Winnie Madikizela Mandela municipality at the Mbizana Baptist Church. #sabcnews

The first set of the 2024 elections have come in from a voting station in the Eastern Cape, showing the ANC being in the lead with 99 votes on the National Ballot followed by the EFF at 29, the MK Party at 17, the DA at 5 and the AIC at 1.

On the Provincial Ballot, this first set of results from the Winnie Mandela Municipality show the ANC leading at this stage at 90, the EFF at 31, the MK Party at 16, UDM 14, the IFP at 2 while BOSA, Rise Mzansi ACDP and the ATM at 1.
