Anytime there’s a mass-scale protests, people get arrested who aren’t familiar with the carceral system.

Inevitably, it leads to outrage over certain police actions or jail conditions, as if the protestors are being targeted for abuse.

The truth is so much worse. It’s mundane.

At a student protest at The New School, NYPD was caught on camera removing a handcuffed woman from a police car to unbutton her shirt and grope her chest multiple times.

NYPL is closed on Sundays, but NYPD gets millions of dollars in overtime to violate women.
