Yes, the headline was out by 1500%, and the story purposely didn't include the real cost of the pedestrian crossings it was complaining about and the only community voice it quoted was a random lady who added more incorrect info to the mix but besides that pretty good reporting

I know Kiwis of all political stripes feel helpless about the anti nature stance this govt has taken. I hear a lot of 'We didn't vote for this...' sentiment. In the face of constantly divisive rhetoric, unifying over the thing we all love & connect to - nature - matters. June 8th

Widespread distributed solar and battery capacity would have helped with today's electricity generation scare.

THAT is something the government could start helping out with right now on homes, schools and marae all over the motu.

🧵The Media Council has upheld complaints about the Herald's reporting on the alleged cost of pedestrian crossings. Complaints about accuracy, fairness and balance were not upheld 'by a fine margin' but the Herald's correction was held to be inadequate.

Such a pack of liars. Even if gas had been found it would be years if not decades away from contributing to NZ energy system. And anyway climate change is a real thing and we need to get off fossil fuels

I wrote about SolarZero's virtual power plant of home batteries in February. This morning, it provided 30MW to help the grid get through the cold snap.

The Government says New Zealand must choose between gas and coal.

That's a false dichotomy.

It only serves to lock us into another half-century of dependence on expensive, dangerous and climate-destroying fossil fuels.

This just shows the lunacy of 'debt obsession' and cuts. Turns out countries do pretty well with debt (invested in, you know, things like education & training, health, new ferries, rail, water supply and treatment ...)
