An interesting thread for royal anoraks like me. The King has a constitutional duty to give Royal Assent to legislation but when he was Prince of Wales government sources claimed he was privately critical of UK plans to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.

Queen Camilla will visit her late father’s armoured cavalry regiment The Royal Lancers in Catterick, North Yorkshire, today for the first time since becoming its Colonel-in-Chief in June last year. Her father, Major Bruce Shand, was a Second World War hero.

Prince William attended the memorial service today for the last original member of the SAS, Major Mike Sadler, at Hereford Cathedral. He died at the age of 103 in January.

The Duke of Edinburgh will attend #AnzacDay commemorations in London on Thursday 25th April.

Prince William is given two get well soon cards by a volunteer at Surplus to Supper during his first engagement back after Catherine’s cancer diagnosis

The Prince of Wales has helped to process and pack leftover food for Surplus to Supper, a charity in Surrey that redistributes food to communities in need. Protecting the environment is one of Prince William’s key priorities, and reducing food waste is a big part of that.

You can see how moved Prince William was as he thanked Rachel Candappa for her cards and promised to look after his wife. She wrote that the ‘whole world’ was proud of Kate, the bravery of her cancer announcement & determination to protect her children through this difficult time
