DeVonta is better than Pittman.

Over last 3 years:

DeVonta at 13.2 yards per catch and 9.0 yards per target w. 19 TDs and Pittman is 10.7 and 7.4 w. 14 TDs.

Passer ratings when targeted – 108.6 for DeVonta, 90.1 Pittman.

And INTs when targeted – 5 for DeVonta, 12 for Pittman.

You might want to double check your facts.

They had six games left after that Browns game and they allowed 12.7 points per game during that stretch and a total of 6 TDs in those six games.

They allowed an NFL-low 221 yards per game after Ben got hurt.

Yeah, that's the problem with putting together a list like this when you never saw these guys play.

Ben was so good his first two years and into 1991 when he tore up his knee in Cleveland.

He played a few more years but was never the same.

You've got some work to do here.

Ben Smith was a really good DB before the knee injury in Cleveland. Mike Mamula doesn't belong anywhere near this list. Look up his career. Where's Leonard Renfro? And Antone Davis? Jerome McDougle belongs way lower. Marcus Smith, too.

Actually, Jordan was part of that 2015 draft that Howie wasn't involved with. That was the year Chip was GM.

Assuming they sign him to a $25 million / year-ish contract it's hard to imagine limiting him to 40 snaps per game.

He's played 3407 of 4259 snaps the last 4 years, which is 80%.

How do you take a talent like this, pay him $25m per year and then slash his snaps to below 67.5%?

Yeah, it really seemed that way. It was a shorter rotation, and starting with the Bills game those guys just played too many snaps and it sure seemed like it caught up with them.

I don't know what the chances are, but he's got to find a way to play all year the way he played about the first six weeks.

If he can do that, he'll be fine. I don't know if he can.

Howie has the job security to be able to play the long game, and the Eagles will likely get a 2nd-round pick in 2026 for a guy who had one year left on his contract.

So you're essentially getting a guy who's currently about 19 or 20 years old for a guy who's about to turn 30.

Howie has drafted 13 players in the 1st round and seven have been defensive linemen, so as long as he's GM the chances are always pretty good:

2010: B.G.
2012: Fletch
2014: Marcus Smith
2017: Derek Barnett
2022: Jordan Davis
2023: Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith

Top-5 edges are getting long-term deals worth $25 million plus. He'll be 30 in September and I think especially after the Bradberry debacle Howie is going to be careful with big money for guys in their 30s.

He had that wrap on his hand the first three weeks, then had 11 sacks from Week 4 through Week 14. Nobody played well under coach Matty.

Nobody wants an unhappy guy in the locker room. You're asking for trouble if you do that. That's just the reality of the NFL.
