In the 1970s—during an actual fiscal crisis—the @nycparks budget was 1.2% of the NYC budget, and there were 12,000 workers. In 2024, the @nycparks budget is only 0.5% of the NYC budget, and there are 8,000 workers. When it comes to investing in our parks, we are moving backwards.

The Joan of Arc Memorial (1915) by Anna Vaughn Hyatt Huntington, located at Riverside Drive and 93rd Street in Manhattan, was the first public outdoor artwork sculpted by a woman that was formally reviewed and approved by the PDC. #WomensHistoryMonth

Over 20k New Yorkers wrote letters opposing cuts to NYC Parks and/or signed the #1Percent4Parks petition. #PlayFair will deliver these petitions & letters to City Hall on 3/21, united
in our call for equitable/resilient parks.
