P&O Ferries CEO is asked why crew are only being paid £4.87 an hour while he is paid over half a million a year.

Today I challenged the CEO of P&O Ferries.

He claimed that workers on his ferries were not sacked on 17 March 2022.

I have a feeling the workers who were handcuffed by masked security guards and marched off the ship to be told they were now out of a job see it differently.

Words are not enough.

Our Government needs to take action to help stop Israel's war crimes in Rafah.

That must include suspending its trade talks with Israel and it must include ending arms sales to Israel.

Rishi Sunak - the richest PM in history - says his plan is working.

Well it's not working for people in East Leeds or across the country whose taxes are soaring while public services are on their knees.

A better plan would be to hit the tax dodgers and invest in our services.

The Chancellor just told the House of Commons that the Tories have 'abolished' low pay!

Once again we see just how out of touch this lot are.

Our Government must do more than issue yet more hollow statements if it is to help prevent what would be an unimaginable bloodbath in Rafah.

Today I joined the Leeds Trades Council May Day March For Peace.

In my speech to the 134th annual Leeds May Day Rally, I reflected on the importance of trade union struggles past and present.

And the need for a ceasefire in Gaza, an end to arms sales to Israel and justice for war crimes.
