England kick off their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign away in Italy tonight but there were some major exclusions, is this because they don't play domestically?

England kept one clean sheet in the last Nations League and it was the game Tomori started. 8 clean sheets in 32 matches for an out of form Milan side, surely a better option than Maguire who has just over 700 minutes under his belt this season.

Folarin Balogun - Stade de Reims

The Arsenal loanee is currently out in France under the management of Will Still and has scored 17 in 27 so far this season. Even if Gareth didn't trust him right now, it'd be worth getting him in an England shirt before the USA do.

Chris Smalling - AS Roma

Smalling has played 95% of the football possible this season and has rewarded Jose with 14 clean sheets in all competitions. He's match fit and is on form so why wouldn't you take the former Manchester United defender? Regularly plays in a back 3 too.

Jarrad Branthwaite - PSV

Played 29 games this season including 2-0 wins over both Arsenal and Sevilla. The 20 year old has impressed in Holland linking up with fellow wonder-kids Xavi Simons and Fabio Silva and I'd happily see him in the squad. Surely better than Eric Dier?
