The new Midleton greenway is dreamy. Even at 9 this morning hundreds of walker, cyclists, roller bladers and woofers out using it.
Looking forward to the full 30km being open later in the year.

After three months of ignoring emails regarding the broken bollard lights on Oliver Plunkett Street, Director of Services David Joyce replied with a non-answer to my query asking if they'd be repaired or replaced.

Now, I get this.

Absolutely no interest in fixing them.

Can you imagine how the stone walls of Elizabeth Fort looked when construction started? This year marks 400 years since builders began the current version of the fort. This is how we imagine it

The lovely lighting installed 2 years ago at the fountain on Grand Parade is starting to g to fail. ⁦Cork City Council⁩ maintenance won’t do the simplest tasks.

The ornate mouldings on the English Market facade started to crumble last year.
CCC first fenced off half the footpath for 3 months, then put up these wooden boxes. Now nearly a year old - don’t hold your breath.

All over the city, the bike lane wands installed only a couple of years ago are falling apart and filthy. As predicted ⁦Cork City Council⁩ won’t maintain them.

All over the city centre, paved crossings have been allowed to deteriorate for years, with only the occasional primitive splodge of tar to patch them up.

Parliament Bridge is one of Corks oldest bridges. Its beautiful old lamps have been broken for over a decade. Apathy or incompetence by CCC- it must be both at this stage.

Dog s--t, wild parking, derelict buildings - add in the antisocial behaviour, vacant units, traffic congestion, graffiti on historic sites and whatever you're having yourself. Cork is in trouble, and where are its champions?

A bridge-hit causing gridlock in Cork this morning.

2 large lorries carrying over-sized loads. The first has hit the Lower Glanmire Rd railway bridge. Doesn’t seem to be much damage. I presume railway closed as well.
