China is helping Russia ramp up its defense industrial base at such a large scale that Moscow is now undertaking its most ambitious military expansion since the Soviet era.

Russia likely couldn’t keep going with its war against Ukraine w/o China’s help.

Speaking of things captured on security camera, one of my neighbors got some pretty amazing footage of the ground rolling last week during the earthquake.

Was out running earlier tonight & I got a notification that one of my security cameras had gone off. When I checked it, I discovered that I had an entire bear family standing between me and getting back into my house.

Needless to say, I ran that last part fast.🏃‍♀️‍➡️🐻👀

For those of us who loved the old Twitter and still find enough of it to stay for now, this was very interesting.

I love this thread and I wish more academics were this open-minded about the changing nature of our profession.

One way to fully embrace these (much-needed) changes: Add science communication & translation as optional criteria that could count towards tenure & promotion.
