Sycamore 2 have enjoyed creating a water clock as part of Science Week!

Nursery, Reception and Year 1 took part in our Get, Set, Green day today. This was linked to Mental Health Awareness Day. We spent the day outdoors taking part in a variety of activities based on a healthy mindset, natural art and Forest School exploration.

Year 5 had a wonderful parent lunch. It was lovely to see so many adults and carers coming in to share lunch with us. #comedinewithus

Year 2 have been enjoying our art unit about perspective. Today we went onto the field to sketch our landscape. ✏️

Our butterflies are starting to emerge. They are very tame so some of the children have been able to hold them. We have 6 so far!

We have had an excellent afternoon in Forest School today, learning about habitats, identifying trees and collecting wild flowers. 🌸🐞🐌🌳

Maple 2 really enjoyed being poetry detectives today! They showed great collaboration and used the clues to infer from the poems. 🕵️

We have really enjoyed passing the taking stick and using it to discuss our feelings and ideas. The boys loved identifying different trees by looking at their leaves and twigs!

This afternoon, Year 4 took part in the launch of the Mental Health Ambassador Scheme.
The aim of the scheme is to give children a range of strategies to support their mental health and also encourage pupils to talk about this hugely important topic.

Little Acorns enjoyed exploring new areas of school during our Get Set Grow day on Friday. We loved being with Reception and Year one children.

Year 6 had a lovely afternoon planting. We can’t wait to see how they grow!

All of Reception children are taking part in a ten week programme of Balance-ability sessions. They take part in fun activities building confidence, developing gross motor skills , spatial awareness and balance skills.

There was much excitement this afternoon as we set up our wormery in Year 5. We can't wait to explore the wonderful world of worms. #science

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their Come Dine with Me today, especially the roast dinner! It was lovely to see everyone, thank you for coming.

There was much excitement in Year 5 today as we released our 10 butterflies. We have been watching their progress as they metamorphosed from caterpillars as part of our science work. #science #livingthings

Year 4 have loved using Lego this morning to develop their use of language. They used imperative verbs and prepositions of place to give instructions to one another and build small Lego models.

Yesterday Little Acorns started Science Week with an experiment. How can we make the apple last longer? We added various condiments to apple slices and can't wait to see which slice lasts the longest.

Thank you to Green Up Your Act Education for an inspiring workshop in Year 5 today. We were blown away by the exciting products that can be made from recycled items and children enjoyed making their own notebooks from old maps. #eco #eco school #environmentaleducation #sustainability
