Why plant anise hyssop? Because it’s a pollinator magnet, it’s native, it smells amazing, you can use the leaves for tea, and it’s gorgeous!

We were back in the garden today, this time in Curve Lake at Dorothy Taylor’s garden! A little bit of garden love, with new flowers and mulch makes a big difference! #pollinatorgardens #curvelakefirstnation

It really is a beautiful, gentle snowfall, but I get how not everyone might be enjoying Mother Nature’s late season shovelling challenge, so this City of Peterborough @PtboPollinators sign is a reminder of what we have to look forward to! Happy snowy spring weekend ❄️☀️🌷

Thank you garden helpers, especially the youngest of 5 months old! All the pollinator gardens in Nicholls Oval Park have been cleaned up, with compost added and ready for another year of providing nectar for pollinators and beauty for people.

Thanks to all who helped build pollinator gardens along the Jackson Creek Trail as part of #nationalyouthweek2022 We used the ‘lasagna’ garden technique by layering newspaper, cardboard, compost & mulch to create the beds #pollinators #pollinatorgarden #peterborough

We hope there is outrage across the province by Doug Ford's proposed plan to destroy parts of the #Greenbelt in order to build 50,000 new homes completely ignores the ecological biodiversity of this space. What about the homes of the 78 species at risk that live there? 1/5

Planting a native understory garden is a great option for those looking to diversify shaded areas of their yard while providing habitat for insects and other wildlife. Download or print the Native Plant Understory Garden Guide at kawarthaconservation.com/Gardens.

Celebrating Pollinator Week on the Pedals & Pollinators bike tour! Joy Lachica (she/her) read City of Peterborough's proclamation as a #BeeCityCanada member. We visited Peterborough Public Library's stunning pollinator garden, & #HutchisonHouseMuseum medicinal gardens, where bumblebees were buzzing with action.
