At eight months old, the 230-pound young muskox is shedding her qiviut, the soft underwool. Qiviut is warmer than sheep’s wool and softer than cashmere. Muskoxen shed their qiviut in spring, and we leave it for the birds to use.

Our adorable porcupine Whitie is one of the oldest living Indian crested porcupines in human care at age 26! 🧡 The senior porcupines is enjoying her delicious herbivore smoothie with peanuts. 🥜

Happy 20th birthday, Matia! 🎉 She was born in 2004 to a mother who was rescued while pregnant and unable to care for her. Raised by humans, the young sea lion couldn’t be released to the wild. She’s very smart and loves to have fun! 🦭
