Happy Mariner Monday! The Mark W. Barker was spotted departing Port Milwaukee this morning.
Fun fact: The Barker, the newest US-built Great Lakes freighter, was built in Wisconsin in 2022.

The 2024 cruise season has begun! The Viking Octantis arrived at Port Milwaukee earlier this month. Between now and mid-October, the port expects 27 visits from 7 vessels, & an estimated 12K+ passengers will help boost the tourism industry within the city.

It was great to stop by Port Milwaukee to check out the Port wind turbine and to meet local children's book author, Katie Meyer. Her book 'Gust' teaches kids about clean energy and all the good work the wind turbine does to power the Port!
