There can be no long-term peace in Europe with Ukraine not a full fledged member of NATO. Any half baked or secondary status measures will be an open invitation to future war. It’s simple, really.

Another Russian hybrid operation is underway, this time attempting to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt about their intentions in the Baltic Sea. This is an obvious escalation against NATO and the EU, and must be met with an appropriately firm response.

As a compromise, couldn’t Biden at least allow Ukraine to use our weapons to respond directly to Russian forces attacking Ukrainian targets from Russia, but keep prohibiting long range fires on other targets inside Russia. Self defense is a very old & honored American value.

It boggles my mind that there are still people out there who genuinely believe that Russia is a status quo , defensive-minded, or security-seeking (as opposed to greedy) great power.

If it wants to restore peace and security in Europe, the West needs to send Ru a strong/credible signal that it would NOT let it slowly/incrementally ré-establish control over parts of Europe. So far, Ru has mostly gotten signals that reinforce their chosen strategy.
